World RX: Trois-Rivières is next, first time for Audi drivers in Canada

By Tarek Ramachani

The FIA World Rallycross Championship action will resume this upcoming weekend. Round seven of the 2015 season will be held in Canada at the prestigious Grand Prix of Trois Rivières, the only North American meeting for World RX.

The series visited Canada last year but this is will be the first time for the Audi squad there. Four Audi Supercars will enter the event with a slight change in the driver lineup.

EKS will compete with a single Audi S1 in Canada. Team owner Mattias Ekström will be behind the wheel of the #10 Audi S1 and will try to win in Canada after a great victory in his home round at Höljes. Eki had an amazing weekend at the Red Bull Ring in the DTM with a great victory in Sunday's race 2.

His team-mate Anton Marlkund will not be driving the #92 Audi S1, the car wasn't ready for the Canadian round after the big crash in Höljes. The Swedish driver will be behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Polo Supercar at Trois-Rivières.

ALL-INKL Münnich Motorsport will be in Canada with two Audi S3 Supercars and a new face. The German team will try to bounce back after a frustrating meeting at Höljes last time out. Team owner René Münnich will drive the #77 Audi S3.

The second #24 Audi S3 will be driven by Tommy Rustad from Norway. He is doing very well this year in FIA European Rallycross Championship (Euro RX) with a Volkswagen Polo from Marklund Motorsport.

The fifth Audi entry is coming from the Larsson Jernberg Racing. As always it will be Robin Larsson who will be behind the wheel of the #4 Audi A1 Supercar. The 2014 Euro RX champion had some ups and downs this year in World RX, he will target some strong performances in the North American round.
